Pouran Derakhshandeh spotlighting immigration in new movie

Pouran Derakhshandeh is making a movie with an immigration theme.

Pouran Derakhshandeh, the Iranian veteran director about her recent project says, ‘I have started writing a new screenplay theming immigration. After a thorough field study on the topic at hand, the first draft of the film script is now ready.

She adds, ‘The movie, which doesn’t have a name assigned to it yet, will look into the lives of the people who decide to immigrate willingly or even reluctantly. It won’t revolve around the positive or negative aspects of immigration. It merely goes deep into it as a whole.’

The director anticipates the production of the movie will start in the upcoming year.

Derakhshandeh’s other creations like ‘Under the Smokey Roof’ and ‘Hush! Girls Don't Scream’ zero in on social issues as her main concern is investigating different social phenomena. She belives the directors must make a movie that can alleviate people’s problems.
